Rev. Dr. Donna Taylor is the Pastor of Galilee United Methodist Church in Edwardsville, VA. She is a highly engaged advocate seeking to promote financial literacy education within faith-based organizations and facilitates financial literacy workshops throughout Virginia. Her book is entitled, “Financial Empowerment in the African American Church.” It features the importance of budgeting, debt management, and building an emergency savings. Rev. Dr. Taylor also serves as Finance Chair for Mission Rivers District in the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church.
In May 2015, Rev. Dr. Taylor received her Doctor of Ministry Degree from Virginia University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was born and raised in New York City and recently discovered her ancestral roots in Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, and Sierra Leone, West Africa. Rev. Dr. Taylor is married to Dr. David Taylor, a retired medical educator. They are blessed with two adult children and three grandchildren. In her leisure time, Rev. Dr. Taylor enjoys traveling, reading, swimming, writing poetry, crocheting, bowling, and spending time with her family.
